Your choice for a UDN2998W, is excellent choice for your project.
The device can be used to drive solenoids, small DC motors, bell
circuits, steppers, ultrasonic generators and the like.

And as you get more experienced, you will find many more
unique applications for the device.

As to the specific implementation take a detailed look at page
4 of the Allegro Data Sheet and study the phase and enable
diagram.

Good luck with your creation. :D

I am relatively new to the whole PIC32 stuff.

I have been coding C for a couple of years and picked up a PIC32 starter kit which is very fun to develop on, so I wanted to take things a bit further.

Today a friend of mine said he could give me his I/O expansion board which the PIC32 starter kit board fits onto, he also has a small LCD screen that he is sending as well.

He gave me the details of the I/O expansion board and the LCD screen, as I have said I am new to this, I have linked the I/O expansion board and the LCD screen below. Does someone know if these are going to work together and if they are, is it difficult to get them working together?

At present there is no port for the FSA506 & HX8238-A Graphics chip in the Microchip's Graphics library.
However the initialization code(Section 10) for FSA506 provided can help you to get across.
Also the FSA506 looks more like the ILI9325 but with an 8bit interface.

I am interested in the Graphics driver for this two chips.
If you can post the Data sheet of the HX8238 ,
then I can tell you more on how you can get the MCHP lib working.

Kindly let me know if you are interested in this development.
